“I got the invitation for Namibia after my performance in Maun early this year. To be honest I am elated because this gives me the chance to reach other markets. I hope to make a good impression and hopefully more invitations will follow,” she said.
But prior to the Namibia trip, the Sepopa born musician will have another show in Maun to launch her latest release Wuparo.
The lanky musician says part of the proceeds from the show will be donated to an orphanage in Maun.
“Charity begins at home that is why I call my launch ‘Giving back to the community’. It was deliberate to have the first launch in Maun because people in that area understand Hambukushu better, which is the language I used in my music,” she explained.
The launch will be held at The Village Church’s Life Centre Hall and will feature other gospel musician, KK (Kelvin Kaongo), Nicklove Dance Crew, Sister Onks as wells as Regis.
KB who has been selling her album from her handbag says the two events will also give her a chance to market and sell her album.
“I decided to sell it myself because promoterswould want to buy a copy for P30, the same amount I spent printing the CDs. That would leave me with nothing. I tried one shop in Maun and they told me that they could not take more CDs because of the piracy. They say memory sticks have taken over and it would not make business sense for them and I understand…” she said.
She modestly told Showbiz that her album had only sold 200 copies, but that she was not worried because it sold at her set price.
