Ga tshwene is a Setswana expression used to describe a magnificent job done by a group or an individual. The former member of the cultural trio, Tselakgopo, executes confidence and maturity in his new offering.
From the first track Fara fara wee, to the last song, the composition takes the listener on a frothy musical journey. The album boasts of fluffy lyrical content and tight instrumentation buttressed by a pumping bass drum. The different flutes and whistles used in the music gives the album a true traditional music piece.
The track Ntire demonstrates the artist and his producers’ ability to create a musical mosaic of neatly arranged lyrics, which intermittently overlap the backing vocals.
In the track, Tumelo, the musician celebrates the life of his son and marvels at how he looks like him.
One of the best-composed tracks in the album, the song is dominated by and undisturbed tenor on back vocals laced with Sheleng’s piercing voice.
The lanky musician, who also works as a special constable at Urban Police Station, continues with the excellent artistic demonstration on the track Mma ntuduetse. Its signature marimba keyboard quickly fades into the mix of instruments as an impressive combination of bass, tenor and soprano is ushered in at mid range thus letting the lead vocals to still perch forward. Sheleng is the man of song and the track Motho le pina best describes his connection with music.
If there was any time for the musician to make an impression then it is now and those who remember him from Tselakgotso can attest to his potential as a singer.
