And now, impressive Lobatse side, Extension Gunners face the wounded log leaders’ fury. In what is expected to be a blood and thunder encounter at the National Stadium tomorrow night, Rollers would seek to quickly put their title ambitions back on track.
With the first defeat the aura of Rollers’ invincibility suddenly disappeared. Other teams, starting with Gunners tomorrow would be eager to further wreck Rollers’ progress.
Madinda Ndlovu’s charges still enjoy a three-point cushion at the top, but by kick-off time, that advantage might have evaporated. Second-placed Mochudi Centre Chiefs are only three points behind and might draw level with victory over BDF XI in tomorrow’s afternoon kick-off at the SSKB Stadium.
Gunners are sure to give Rollers a tough evening with Pako Modikwa, Topo Piet and Katlego Keobake leading the charge. Piet was impressive last Friday against Chiefs, reminding his new paymasters why they prized him away from Nico United.
Rollers will look to winger, Kobamelo ‘Swere’ Kebaikanye and midfielder, Motsholetsi Sikele to put them back on track. While Rollers face a tricky encounter, equally Chiefs have a mammoth task against the army side.
Chiefs played to a frustrating 1-1 draw with Gunners last weekend and should consider themselves lucky to escape with a point. BDF XI on the other hand, were thoroughly impressive in a 4-1 romp over struggling ECCO City Greens in Francistown. Veteran striker, Master Masitara rolled back the years with a brace.
At the bottom, Letlapeng would look to improve on their eight points garnered thus far when they welcome Motlakase Power Dynamos.
Both teams lost over the weekend. Former BMC sponsored clubs, BMC and ECCO City Greens play each other at the New Lobatse Stadium. In other matches, battered Nico United host a buoyant Orapa United while Sankoyo Bush Bucks welcome Satmos. Gaborone United are home to BR Highlanders. On form Police XI face Notwane at the Molepolole Sports Complex in the only game on Sunday.
