The restaurant, bar, which started operating in November last year, is located where it used to be the popular Khwest restaurant by Mebala Centre in the Main Mall. The venue has now been revamped with beautifully designed décor.
According to management, the restaurant is targeted at mature crowds and young professionals. On Friday, the resident disc jockey Keabetswe ‘Flex’ Rantutu, took revellers on a high, playing deep soul house music, which thrilled customers.
Several customers arrived in the evening, ordered their beverages and sat in the terrace.
French man Damien Lenglet and Mauritian Jean- Michel Philo were at The Bier Baron for a night out of fun. The two said they were visiting Botswana for about two months, and had been to the Bier Baron twice.
“The place is refreshing and is the best spot in town. Although most people don’t know about the place just yet, more and more people are coming through to check the place out. Soon business might boom for The Bier Baron,” said Philo.
According to the head waiter and chef Teko Monamodi, in time the spot will expand to the other side of Spar supermarket at the rooftop to cater for more customers. The Bier Baron’s other manager, Leungo said they wanted to hire another deejay who would help the business grow. He said their restaurant/bar was a good spot for people to unwind after work and on weekends. Monamedi also said the restaurant offered the best service, as well as healthy food in an amazing environment.
The Bier Baron also serves Setswana cuisine, prepared by experienced chefs.
They offer lunch and dinner. They also serve an assortment of cocktails and other beverages. From Thursday to Saturday, Dj Flex is on the decks, churning good music.
The place has new LCD screens and a smart bar. The restaurant can also host birthday parties, promotions and other events.
