Fashion Swap Charity Event A Success

Molosiwa showcasing one of his designs at the first ever Fashion Swap charity event which was organized by talented fashion designer Kaone Moremong.

The event took place on Saturday at ‘Kwa ga Ncinci’ s place by Village in Gaborone. It started at 10 am. The place was designed like a shop with beautiful designer’s clothes, and tables had clothes to be swapped. People started coming through from 11 am and the swapping started. They brought barely used and new clothes, accessories and shoes and most people managed to swap with others. Popular local fashion designers, stylists such as Thapelo Letsebe, make up artist, Gwen Isaacs, and models were at the event to support Kaone Moremong and also participate in the fashion swap. Fashion designer, Aobakwe Molosiwa also showcased his clothes and people were able to fit them. According to Kaone Moremong, the fashion swap’s purpose is for people to de-clutter their houses so that they have more space and also acquire new stuff from other people at the event. Some who attended donated clothes they no longer need for charity. The donated clothing items will be given to charity. Moremong stated that she would identify under privileged individuals in various homes to give them donated clothing items.

Kwa ga Ncinci’s resident disc jockey, Ore was playing hip-hop and house music all day. United States of America’s hip-hop artist, Blake also graced the event and also played his singles, which will be released soon.

The event is also an opportunity for fashion industry professionals to have a networking session. Most of the people who attended the event had a good time as they got to spend the day with some of Botswana’s creative minds. The main objective of the event was to donate to charity and that was achieved, as there was a lot of clothing given by people.
