Reports are that the team wanted to seek audience with the Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture, Thapelo Olopeng over allowances.

The minister has reportedly ordered a full report from the Botswana Football Association (BFA) regarding the issue.   The players reportedly feel sidelined and have not been paid allowances for some time.

The team is fresh from a resounding 3-1 win over Madagascar in an All Africa Games qualifier over the weekend. Reports of discontent immediately surfaced, but Nkutlwisang was quick to dismiss them.

“We are busy preparing for the next game, I do not know anything about prospects. As far as I know every player is in camp focused on the next game,” she said.

Efforts to get a comment from BFA president, Tebogo Sebego were unsuccessful at the time of going to press. Sources said the women’s team has been receiving allowances, but without appearance fees.
