The event organiser, Barolong Seboni, has revealed that on the first day patrons will be treated to an off-road and outdoor exhibition.
“Though the event is about beef and cattle, it is also about how we enjoy the great outdoor lifestyle at the cattle post or farms, for that reason we will be showcasing off-road vehicles and trucks that are most suited for Moraka dirt roads and wilderness,” he said.
Seboni further revealed that on the same day, there will be what they termed as ‘pimp my bakkie competition’.
“Customised trucks and vans will be competing for the prize of the best pimped bakkie. They will be on display. The last event of the day will include an auction for the best breed on display, farming machinery and cattle feeds will be on show,” Seboni explained.
On day two there will be an outside event featuring a fun park. Because the Lobatse beef fest also has a lifestyle-oriented feature, there will be live performances by local artists, traditional food, wine tasting, and a beer garden setup.
“This day is for families. This is when you can bring your family to the town park. There will be paintball target practices, ballthrowing target shot, face painting and air lifters for the joy of the attendees,” he said.
A jazz festival will conclude the three-day festival.
“The third day, the jazz festival will be graced by Botswana’s top jazz artists. It will be basically to wind down the weekend with soft music. But there will also be other local musicians and DJs to support the main acts,” he said.
“Because we anticipate chilly weather, we encourage patrons to dress warmly and to bring their blankets and throws. There will be coffee and tea available,” he said.
Tickets are being sold at webtickets outlets, as well as Matisong and at the Riverwalk kiosk for P150 adults and P50 for children.
