One Muscle solves his music dilemma

 For four years the lanky musician, whose real name is One Masele, has only released gospel music, but says his new dancehall project is nearing completion. His latest gospel album Sefapaano 4 released in January this year was the fourth in a series of gospel projects that the musician has composed in the last four years.

“I had a dilemma because I love dancehall, but there came a time when I felt strongly that I should use my talent to minister and thought I should shift to gospel.  But I have decided to do both genres under two different trading styles,” he told Showbiz.

 The man who hails from Kanye does his gospel music under his given name, while he releases dancehall as One Muscle. His last dancehall album, Undisputed released in 2010 did well and now the musician says he will come back even stronger in the new offering.

His latest gospel release combines elements of heavy dancehall beats with some inspiring gospel lyrics.

In the opening track, Ke A Rapela, the talented vocalist evokes old memories of when South African, Derrick Nzimande, was the toast of the town with those viby tunes. The musician demonstrates his versatility in the track Baba adding a Nigerian flavour to the music with use of  accents when saying my ‘Godo’ and everyday of my ‘lifo’. “It would be nice if people recognise me for both genres, but I am doing gospel mostly as a way of touching people’s lives.  However, dancehall is my bread and butter,” he said.
