Bannalotlhe is a banker by profession, originally from Kalamare and is married with three children.
She says her passion for beauty and wellness motivated her to buy the business in 2014.
Urban Space‘s value proposition is to change the lives of its clients for the better, by sensitising them on the importance of beauty and wellness; including skin, nail care, foot care. Further, they advise on and which products to use.
“U.S is a haven of tranquility which offers our clients an extensive range of innovative treatments and massages in a holistic, relaxed environment ” said Bannalotlhe.
She explained that they offer expert advice on products that consumers buy in their spa and recommend tips on how to best use them.
The staff at Urban Space is fully qualified as they undergo continuous training in South Africa. According to Bannalotlhe, their French products like Guinot can be used for give the skin a balanced and healthy complexion through its deep cleansing, oxygenating and regenerating properties.
She also said that another product they offer is Thalgo, a marine product. Thalgo soothes, hydrates, purifies skin and is an anti-ageing product.
Bannalotlhe says she has always been passionate about skin care, beauty and healthy living, and she has a knack for business management.
She managed to get funding from a bank and expanded the Gaborone branch where she employs eight people.
She now has another branch in Maun with four employees and will soon open a branch in Francistown. She further emphasises the importance of support she receives from her spouse and family.
Urban Space offers corporate, group and individual packages, can even host private events such as baby showers, parties, to mention a few of the events organised.
Some of the massage types offered include hot stone, full body and back massages. There is also aromatherapy and reflexology to relax the muscles and give stimulation. “Our main focus is to give our clients an exceptional experience, excellent service and a homely ambiance,” said Bannalotlhe.
Like many businesses, the director had to overcome a few challenges that include power cuts that made her to invest in a generator, balancing work, family and business. Another challenges is staying relevant with all the competition in the industry and also empowering her staff.
