Comedy & Wine night slated for Workers� Day

The show will be headlined by Botswana’s heavyweights Bafana ‘Ribcracker’ Letsatsi and Oefile ‘Mawee’ Mokgware, from Major Moves Comedy crew, and top South African comedian Thapelo ‘Tips’ Seemise, also known as Shampoo, from the popular series Taxi Ride. Seemise has a comedy slot on SABC 1 Sport at 10 show hosted by Thomas Mlambo.
Supporting acts for the show are Augustus ‘Legusty’ Mokgadi from Mochudi and Phenyo ‘The Master’ Phaladi from Molepolole. Phenyo the Master who is no stranger to comedy recently performed in Kasane and also took the lime light at the Heavyweight International Comedy Festival outshining Conrand Koch of Chester Missing fame.
Rail Park mall marketing manager, Kagiso Mokole, said this time around they have added wine tasting to the show for added variety of entertainment.
She said the aim of this year’s show is to include night activity at Rail Park mall and promote the comedy industry in the country.
“Rail Park mall is one of the busiest mall s during day, but not busy at night, so we want to raise the night activity and encourage potential people out there to know that they can host late night events as well,” she said.
Mokole also said their aim is to contribute to continue spreading awareness about their Food Court and celebrate standup comedy.
“We want to celebrate comedy as an alternative form of entertainment that is abundant in Botswana. The ultimate goal is to help local comedians turn their talent into a livelihood,” she added.
Makole promised revellers fireworks, noting that patrons would experience top-notch entertainment while having a chance to sample the world’s best wines.
“The wine tasting which will be conducted by top-notch wine experts (Fine Brand) surely brings an exciting perspective to the star studded event,” she said. She urged the public to support local comedians and come in large numbers.
