Kutlwano humble BDF VI

The two sides were playing their first match of the season.Kutlwano are the defending champions and they went into the match on a high gear.
The first set was a tight affair with both teams having short dominant phases to take a lead before being pegged back. Kutlwano dominated the second set with great serving.
Kutlwano coach, Opelo Popo told Monitor Sport after the match that they played according to plan. He said the main concern was decision making by the setter.
Popo said the setter should have been selective when serving the ball especially when the score is close. He stated that when the margin was close, he expected the setter to have given the ball to the scorer.
“This is our first game of the league. Our setter will get better with more games she plays. We lost to BDF VI last season and we wanted to avoid the same mistake. We have been lucky because we did not lose any player at the end of last season,” said Popo.
For his part, BDF VI coach, Lee Tshipana said he was impressed by the performance of his charges. He explained that he has a long time plan for the club. Tshipana said his aim is to develop young players.
He said at the moment his side is made up of youngsters and they did well to stand up against volleyball giants, Kutlwano.
He stated that the second set his players played according to plan. He said the plan is not to contest for the championship, but to finish in respective position.
