Permanent secretary to the President, Carter Morupisi, yesterday confirmed that De Graff had been replaced by Patrick Ralotsia as the Minister of Agriculture and deputised by Fidelis Molao. Both appointments are with immediate effect.
“Honourable De Graaff has, during his term as Minister of Agriculture, guided the Ministry’s transformation process in the beef industry culminating into last year’s exceptional performance of the Botswana Meat Commission (BMC), as well as a bumper harvest in crop production of significant increase in yields through the implementation of the ISPAAD program,” he said. He added that this included the LIMID programme and several other interventions by the government to improve the agricultural sector. Morupisi added that they were grateful for the commitment that De Graaff had displayed during his tenure in the agriculture ministry. “His Excellency would like to thank Honourable De Graaff on behalf of the nation, for his unwavering support and commitment that he displayed during his term,” he said.
