Designer teen twins impress fashion fanatics

The twins from Kgaphamadi were the opening act at the show.
Their brand, Alittes Designs, inspired people of all different characters who came to witness, what the new designers had to offer.
Their designs had a lot of slick African print and sky blue.
In an interview with Arts & Culture the Jonas twins revealed that the inspiration for their designed came from the environment, Botswana flag colours and the ocean.
They said they usually take whatever that pops up in their minds and put it into a drawing book and make it into reality.
The Jonas twins cited that they started designing at a very young age of three to four years, but commenced last year and made their dream came to reality. The two first made their appearance last December. They made their entry into the fashion industry after learning how to design and sew clothes online, they said.
The twins who are currently doing Form Four at Newton English Medium School said because of the challenges they encounter of having to juggle school and designing, they are considering home schooling.
The twins aim to start making couture designs for their own fashion line.
In fact, the two aspire to showcase their designs in the biggest fashion shows such as at the London Fashion Week. Grace Nobunga of M2G Square Designers from South Africa left the audience begging for more as she displayed elegant, sexy but yet classic looks, which women could wear even for the office.
Nobunga did not only showcase ordinary clothes but most clothes for all occasions including wedding gowns. The talented Nobunga told Showbiz that she entered the fashion industry in 2008. Inspired by the love people in her country have for fashion.
Other designs from Botswana were Nomathemba of Nzomutle Designs, June Bug of June Bug Collections, Lame Chilume and Boitumelo who won at the President’s Day Fashion Show.
K.O.B.O Couture from Nigeria and Sidumiso Tshuma of Zimbabwe were among other international designers.
The South African designers included MS Desings by Siphokazi, Fierce Black by Nancy Molekoa, L-Mar-K by Martha Kekana, and Dejavu Designs by Angel Funeka. South Africa’s Jossy designed by 26-year-old Rameotse Tshabalala walked away with the local title after winning the Fashion Without Borders in Vaal.
Tshabalala’s achievement pleased the crowd as they cheered for him for a job well done. He entered the fashion industry in 2013 and made it to the Top 9 out of 70 designers who participated in South Africa Guru, a reality show. Nineteen-year-old model Kutlo Macheng walked away with the title of best model beating famous models at their own game.
