She will be back in the country on May 30 for a show at Masakeng Recreational Park in Morwa, just two weeks after her performance at Trekkers Club in Mogoditshane.

While the release of the original Asine was enough to get Khumalo on the spotlight, the remix has created a storm. It is on the dance floor, taxi ranks and at any other space suitable for playing music.

The remix by Selebi-Phikwe-based DJ Bino, is driving people crazy and has effectively toned down the mercurial, Koze Kuze.

The organisers of the show dubbed ‘Kelly Khumalo Back By Popular Demand’ Gilbert ‘PP’ Seagile and Masakeng owner Percy ‘Dr’ Sebogodi said revellers would get a chance to listen to both versions of the song as Khumalo and DJ Bino will be performing.

“We have arranged for both of them to perform the two versions separately, which we believe will cater for all age groups. Remember the original song is more appealing to elderly people while the house version is mostly followed by the youngsters,” Seagile said.

Sebogodi added that he understood the hype created by DJ Bino’s release and that he anticipated a huge turn out.

“Kelly is a big star, you cannot take chances when planning for her show.  So we are pulling all stops to ensure that the show goes smoothly. Both Asines are currently appealing to a wider audience, which is why we have decided to have the show in the open space behind the restaurant,” Sebogodi said.

Also coming to perform at the show is Rustenburg Brass Band.  Locals include DJs Fondo Fire, King, Thoko and Maths as well as traditional artist Jojo and motswako man Mosako.

On May 29 it will be ‘Shumaya Night’ in Jwaneng where South Africa’s hot act Zinhle will perform alongside Trademark and Jika Boys of Khumbulekhaya fame. Once again, DJ Fondo Fire will lead the local line-up of Jojo and DJ Dave Bouy.
