Ranaka falls in love with Ranaka

The South African star told Showbiz that she shares a last name with the village in Botswana and only got to learn about it from her father.
“When growing up he always told us tales from Ranaka,” she said. “But we never got the chance to visit the place until last week, and it was an amazing experience,” she said.
Her reality show dubbed Dineo’s Diary, which is on its fourth season centres around the radio and TV personality. She also told Showbiz that the idea was just to shoot a segment, “but when she got there I fell in love with the place”.
Ranaka also explained that it was her first time in the country, but will be returning again for a full insert in September. “There is a lot more that I still need to learn about Ranaka and our roots. We will be coming back for a full insert (show),” she said.
“We were only there for a few hours last week, and we flew back to South Africa, but the short time we spent there I could tell that people are very pleasant and interesting. We are definitely coming back,” she explained.
Ranaka who visited the village with her parents and brother was quoted on her experience in Ranaka saying, “There is an order to everything. There is an order to the way women and men shake hands. This is a serious culture shock to me,” she said. The show, which airs Wednesdays on Vuzu Amp, has put the Ranaka village on the map, as millions across Africa and the world view it.
