The sessions take place every first Sunday of the month at Bojanala Waterfront.
Different genres of music are played at the venue. Sometimes it will be a live band while interested individuals can go upstage to sing, rap or recite a poem.
“We basically want to showcase alternative talent. Locally if you are not a singer or a house DJ, it is difficult to make it so we thought of having an alternative space for artists,” Zeus explained.
Free styles are also common at Jam for brunch sessions.
They usually take place towards dusk where aspiring artistes showcase their talents in different disciplines.
There are resident DJs who play different types of music in between performances. “We like to give a spotlight to alternative genres such as EDM, drum and base.
We also throw in some laid back jams. It’s not a jazz music event because people play jazz music on Sundays.”
Although the primary focus of the event is to give exposure to budding artistes, the popular musician says even established acts interested in taking part in the event are welcome.
Upcoming acts, Mpho Sebina and Sasa Klaas have taken part in these sessions.
Zeus describes Jam for brunch as a big picnic, which has a friendly environment for everyone including families.
“We even have a children’s corner.”
The open space event has attracted a number of merry makers and socialites who often go there to unwind.
