The festival, which was graced by more than 10 artists from different countries, started in the afternoon with artists; Ryn Blaze, X Calibre and Tumiso trying to warm up a sizeable crowd to no joy.
It was only early evening when Mophato Dance Theatre swooped in with the brilliant performance that the growing crowd rose to their feet.
The theatre group started off with a traditional dance act that seemed to immediately grab the audience’s attention. The simple and well-choreographed dance act had different traditional dance routines and drum sets, something that ignited the audience to cheer up and enjoy the performance.
Though sweet and captivating, the performance was short as Mophato Dance Theatre had limited stage time. They closed their performance with solo dance acts, leaving the crowd begging for more.
Thankfully, that short stint left a cheerful mood as the Molapo Piazza came alive and the crowd joined in the festivities.
A number of artists of different music genres such as DJ Cupid, Zeus, Tshepi Live Entertainment, Stompi, and Anthony Stanco and The Crucial Elements also gave their best performances.
The American crew of Anthony Stanco and The Crucial Elements took audience engagement to a different level. With their saxophone version of ‘Oh when the saints go marching in’, they stepped from the stage to march with the revellers.
Also on element was female jockey, DJ Cupid, who played long length set that comprised of different music genres such as Electro, RnB, Hip hop and Naija sounds.
Award winning superstar, Vee closed the show around midnight with his artistic performances. He performed his old and new tracks. He also took the audience on a spiritual moment when he performed some gospel songs.
Apart from the short dampening moment of sound technical problems, the stage set-up was well organised with good lighting and a huge screen, which displayed different visuals that told different stories of Le Fete De La Musiq.
Around 10pm, Molapo Piazza was packed to the rafters.
