The song was released last week on various radio stations and music applications such as Sound Cloud. “We have learnt that the feminine side has not been given a chance for expression. Women are always seen as a sex symbol. MmamoNgwato will help remove that mentality,” said Sasa Klaas, who strongly believes in women empowerment in the society. She said the song talks about women having self-esteem, no matter how they look.
With the term MmamoNgwato, she is referring to women with big behinds, since it is believed that Bangwato women have a well-built behind. Skillful music producer, Air Dee who produced the famous hip-hop track Caracara by K.O produced MmamoNgwato in South Africa. Sasa Klaas, who is currently under the mentorship of HHP stated that the song is part of her upcoming album that she is working on. “I have worked on a number of songs with different producers and artists,” she said.
She has worked with Thasman, Malik Pablo and Samantha Mogwe on the album. At the moment, the track is not up for download online. Sasa Klaas who was recently signed by Virgin Brew stated that she decided to disappear from the entertainment scene for a while so she could get some lengthy time to work on her craft.
She was working with local and South African producers, which led her to be on the road constantly. However, she stated that she has matured from the femcee she was. “Over the years, I have grown from that young woman, I have found a new sound and direction that I am now following.”
She said that she has revamped to an Afrocentric style personally and musically.
