The duo, made up of Karabo ‘Current’ Pule and Rebaone ‘Skalingo’ Kgabuki, released the single as teaser to their upcoming debut album, which will be released in November 2015.
The two young men, who hail from Gabane, said while some people may think the kwaito genre has lost its lustre, the music is still loved and treasured by many, and as such needs not die a slow death.
Current explained that their seven-year experience of creating kwaito music has shown them that there is need to revive the genre.
“We are not going to abandon kwaito and go with popular genres, but we are instead going to find ways to make the genre relevant,” he said.
Current also said the two of them complement each other through their different strengths.
The duo’s song, which has a vibey tune, will appeal to partygoers and dance lovers. The song, which was produced by Lif Aman, was recorded at Bazamele Records.
Tha Defination has two singles under their belt, being Tru Pantsola, which was released in 2012 and their 2013 offering Push Push. Tru Pantsola was produced by EJ, and it was mixed and mastered by Guff at Heartbeat Sounds.
Push Push, which was produced by EJ and given a magic touch by one of the most respected music producers in Botswana, Dr Tawanda, who mixed and mastered the song.
The kwaito twosome are currently in studio again recording more songs, which they are confident will thrill music lovers and catapult them to stardom.
