Sheillah Molelekwa releases single

The single, which has already hit the airwaves, is a prelude to the nubile singer’s album, to be released in November. Molelekwa rose to fame after being crowned Miss Universe Botswana in 2012.
She, however, gained international recognition when she was Botswana's representative in popular reality show, BBA. Since the curtain closed on the last season, Molelekwa has been hard at work developing her talent and love for music.
The budding songstress recently sat down with Showbiz to share the inspiration behind her single, which is anticipated to be a hit.
Molelekwa said the jazzy song, which was co-produced by Fana Zulu who is Hugh Masekela’s base guitarist, as well as Bongani Moyo and Themba Mkhize, was inspired by her view that single women should not be pressurised to wed. “Some people often point fingers at women who aren’t married by a certain age and call them impolite names. I see nothing wrong with a woman not being married, or not wanting to enter matrimony,” she said.
Molelekwa hastened to articulate that she doesn’t discourage women to get married but rather suggests that if they do, it should be for the right reasons.
“I have seen women giving up their dreams just so they could get married - just for the title. I want to speak against that and it inspired this single. I hope that my message will inspire women who are at a crossroads over the same issue, to make good decisions about their lives,” she explained.
Molelekwa added that her album would feature 12 songs. On life after BBA, Molelekwa said, “nothing much has changed - the only difference is that there is pressure to focus and succeed but I’m not complaining because I’m enjoying the challenge.”
