BOFEPUSU campaigns for UDC

Botswana Federation of Public Sector Unions (BOFEPUSU) says it will today meet its campaign team at Goodhope/Mabule constituency ahead of the weekend by-election.
BOFEPUSU deputy secretary general, Ketlhalefile Motshegwa yesterday told a media briefing that the meeting would be a review of what they have been doing on the ground. “We don’t want to expose our strategy but you must know that we claimed the scalps of some politicians during the October 24, 2014 general elections,” said Motshegwa. Motshegwa reiterated the stand by the BOFEPUSU secretary for labour, Johnson Motshwarakgole in advocating for voting for the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) candidate, Kgosi Lotlamoreng Montshioa II.
He said the electorates in the constituency should shun the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) candidate, Eric Molale, who he accused of having antagonised the public service that consequently resulted in the monumental 2011 strike.
For his part Motshwarakgole said, Molale should not be voted for because he is still the Minister of Presidential Affairs and Public Administration. He also revealed that they have a team that has been on the ground since the campaigns ensued. “We have sent a message to our members that they should not vote for Molale,” said Motshwarakgole.
The BOFEPUSU president Johannes Tshukudu claimed that the majority of workers at Goodhope/Mabule are public servants. Tshukudu said they expect their members to heed the call to vote for the UDC.
