Upcoming comedienne Lira showed some potential on stage as she took a swipe at Dr Margaret Nasha who was present at the gig. “I respect intelligent women like Mma-Nasha, she has even proved wrong the saying beauty with brains,” she joked, leaving the crowd in a roar of laughter.
She went on to tell yet another joke about Mma-Nasha, which the crowd found amusing. She calmly told the audience that if a demon jumps into Mma-Nasha’s bedroom instead of her shouting “in the name of Jesus” the demon would get terrified and shout in the name of Jesus.
Lira then moved on to Vee asking what the award-winning musician does with foreskins since he was once an ambassador for the circumcision programme. “Ever since he joined the circumcision programme he has upped his swag. He looks rich”.
Nigma who seemed to be the favourite of all touched on a number of issues, ranging from sex, music, fire churches and musicians. She said sexual intercourse is a way to connect with God. “That’s why you hear women screaming Oh my God Oh my God when they are having sex”.
She moved on to talk about her body stating that she is a Mongwato from Francistown considering that she has a big behind.
“Because of my big behind sometimes when I cross the border the immigration officials vividly search me thinking that I am hiding something illegal”. The audience seemed to enjoy every joke from the Comedienne- cum- rapper. She left them in stitches. She went on to advise women in the audience saying, “if your man is always hitting around the bush, you better shave,” as she walked off stage.
Veteran comedienne, Rekunde who took her set to the audience as she walked around making jokes about audience, pulled the greatest stunt of the night. She even went to the extent of asking for alcohol sips from the audience.
“If you want to see that Gaborone girls are not good at speaking English go to a night club and pay attention to them singing, they just hum the lyrics saying hmmmhm hmmmh hmm”. The fourth comic Refilwe who seemed to be short of jokes went on the stage carrying an iPad. Refilwe failed to impress the crowd and they ended up shouting bye bye.
