The workshops dubbed Arts and Entertainment Expo will assist established and upcoming artists to excel in their craft. The trio is expected to facilitate the workshops during the first week of December this year.
Banks, who previously visited the country, is well-known for choreographing music videos for Beyoncé Knowles, Usher and Toni Braxton. Actress, Evans has featured in a number of movies such as Just Wright and Black Rose. Dance choreographer, Parker has worked with the Black Eyed Peas and Kelly Rowland.
Coordinator of Arts and Entertainment, Tshepiso Maruping of Dance Alive Pro said the workshops will focus on a number of elements such as developing performing arts, and leadership skills, as well as creating relations for local artists.
“The purpose of this discussion is to investigate and appreciate some of the pertinent issues affecting the growth of our arts and entertainment industry in Botswana,” Maruping said.
One of the key features of the workshops is an open discussion, which is planned to be a meeting platform with local artists, entertainers and art leaders.
“The forum will explore methods and opportunities in which local performers and media content creators can develop and launch viable, creative projects that provide increased career opportunities for performers and young people”.
In the previous workshops, which were facilitated by Reyna, dancers had an opportunity to discuss and share their views with the American artist, where she gave tips to help them grow.
“The workshops, as previously experienced with Reyna earlier this year, provided a rich, dynamic, interactive and creative learning experience, where the American artist imparted practical insights and leadership skills to our local participants,” Maruping said.
The Arts and Entertainment Expo is open to artists of different backgrounds and ages.
