Stiff Competition At Miss Botswana Elimination Round

The elimination round saw 30 models parading in different outfits by 11 local designers in an effort to get a spot in the top 16.
The models staged a competitive show on the ramp giving each other stiff competition. They had different styles and approach on the ramp, which made the show intriguing.
On the ramp, the trick was on cat walking.
Models went on the ramp in groups wearing beautiful designs.
The moment of truth came when there was the first elimination that saw 20 models going to the second stage of elimination. After making another walk on the stage, the last round of elimination cut the number down to 12 models, who could not hide their excitement. Judges, Tlhomamo Thabiso Moje, Boitshwarelo Lebang, Dorcas Thobega Molefhe and Bogadi Nwako decided to add four more models from the eliminated group, taking the number to 16 models. The finalists will compete for the Miss Botswana crown on September 29 at the Gaborone International Convention Centre (GICC).
Eliminated models accepted the defeat as they congratulated their counterparts backstage.
The Miss Botswana media relations director, Tshepo Maphanyane stated that judging and vetting of the models started during auditions and they have been going on till the fashion show. She said the judges have been examining the models on elements such as beauty with a purpose, talent and fitness.
The public also contributed to the judging through SMS voting, which contributed 40 percent of the judging.
Overall, the fashion show lived up to expectation with creative collections from designers.
Hosts Oneal Zibanani Madumo and Leungo Pitse kept the audience entertained with their presence on the stage. Samantha Mogwe, Ozi F Teddy and Chef Gustos provided entertainment.
There was also a surprise appearance by music mogul, DJ Sbu and former Big Brother Africa (BBA) contestant LK4.
