BOMU changes awards date

BOMU secretary general, Pagson Ntsie, exclusively revealed this to Showbiz yesterday.

“With the hectic preparation for the coming awards underway we have, unfortunately, been forced to change the date at the last minute. Our host venue at the GICC will not be available on the date we had initially set, hence the change,” he said.

Ntsie said this year’s event would come with a lot of improvements and amendments. He added that for the first time since the awards’ inception, there would be a rigid judging and vetting process.

“The judging and vetting process will begin tomorrow. We will also reveal the judges, for the first time,” he said.

Ntsie noted that unlike in the past years, entrants to this year’s awards seem more lucrative, adding that this year they paid more attention to the challenges and the shortfalls they experienced last year.

“This time around the competition will be stiff. There is no easy category and it is very exciting for the industry. People should expect wonders at the GICC come end of next month,” he said.

BOMU management however declined to reveal the names of the performers who will dazzle guests on the night of glitz and glamour.

“We do not want to reveal the performances list just yet. All we can promise is that we will have the best of the best. I can assure you that the GICC roof will be on fire. We have really tried to urbanise this year’s awards. We are also expecting visitors from Zimbabwe, Lesotho, South Africa and Namibia,” Ntsie added.
