Already the top 30 contestants have been awarded their Samsung tablets from Bofinet, all loaded with unlimited data for the next two years.

Limkwokwing University of Creative Technology is the main supporter of Miss Botswana with a P4 million five-year sponsorship converted into scholarships for the queens and princesses.

Mercy Thebe, Limkwokwing regional director of communications says by the end of the sponsorship, five queens will have been sponsored for full degree programmes in Malaysia and Limkokwing’s London wing, while 10 princesses will be sponsored for degree programmes in Botswana.

Resurfacing after a two-year absence, the 2015 Miss Botswana pageant also sees Liberty Life coming on board with P1.5 milllion premium life cover for five years for the queens.

Other corporate sponsors are the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Culture, Avis, Air Botswana, Choppies, hotels such as Adansonia, Indaba, Grand Palm, while top-notch restaurants in Gaborone have also hosted the contestants. Such joints include the News Café, Flava, Sky Lounge, Liban and Rodizio.

Btv also came on board allowing the organisers to flight Miss Botswana docu-series on Sundays, as well as broadcast the grand finale live on the night. Maphanyane says this year all the women’s wear was sponsored and no one had to spend their money on attire.

The pageant also had sponsors who did the contestants’ make-up, hair, nails, while other sponsors provided meals and accommodation throughout the preparations.

She added that they are hopeful of compiling an impressive international standard video profile for the Botswana queen ahead of the Miss World pageant in China.

The Limkokwing Fashion Club in Malaysia delivered various fashion lines for the 2015 Miss Botswana fashion night, while several local designers came on board to showcase their works on the night of the grand finale last week.

According to Thebe, present on the grand finale night was also Limkokwing Fashion Club Creative Director, Dato Tiffanee Marie Lim who after her experience expressed the desire to invite selected designers to her international fashion show.

Thebe says Lim is a well-known fashion events host and will be hosting the Malaysia Fashion Week.

“Lim says the local designs opened her to a lot of things she did not know about the Botswana fashion industry,” Thebe added.
