Hollywood trio to facilitate community outreach programme

The trio will in December have an arts and culture workshop. Dancer and choreographer, Banks was in the country earlier this year to facilitate the same event.
This time Evans (television and film actress), and Baker (dancer and choreographer) will be join Banks. They will facilitate the outreach programme, which is dubbed FUN-Day of Workshops prior to the arts and culture workshop.
“It is specifically planned to reach out to underprivileged and vulnerable children in our community that we work with from the Dreams Alive Club, SOS Children’s Villages and other charitable organisations,” stated Tshepiso Maruping of Dreams Alive Club that has invited the American trio.
Dreams Alive Club is an organisation, which works with underprivileged and homeless children. During Banks’ visit in the country they took her to Kamogelo Pre-School and Old Naledi conducting outreach programmes. Maruping said of the upcoming programme, “We aim to fashion this workshop into a festive environment that will also serve as a Christmas party for the children in the community. The day will include dance and acting activities for the children, jumping castles, face-painting, snacks, and a goodie bag for each child to take with and make this a memorable experience”.
She stated that underprivileged children lack a lot in their lives, but with the presence of the Hollywood trio tutoring them about performance arts it will be a great experience.
After the outreach programme activities the trio will then facilitate an arts and culture workshop at Maitisong.
The workshop will touch on a number of arts performance subjects such as dance, film, theatre and presentation skills.
The previous workshop, which was facilitated by Banks, was a success as it was attended by a number of arts performance players such as Mophato Dance Troupe and TNT.
In her previous visit in the country Banks promised to assist with exporting talent.
