This time around Touch Motswako worked with young producer, Yungfella who did the laid back beat that is also a sing along on the chorus. The song was released a few weeks ago.
Explaining the whole concept of Ko Teng Teng the Ramotswa native said, “My producer, Rimzy called me up to the studio for a meeting. After the meeting we came to a conclusion of recording a track that would remind my fans that I am still keeping it original”.
After sampling a few beats from Yungfella, Touch Motswako chose the Ko Teng Teng beat for the song.
Basically on the track he talks about what the rap game has done for him, how faithful he has been to the hip hop culture and how he wants to penetrate the music market.
“I talk of how I want to penetrate the music market till I reach my destiny of fulfillment with wealth creation within my circles,” he said.
This time around the lyricist tried by all means to refrain from his usual punchline delivery rap but focused more on word play, parables and metaphors, something usually done by underground rappers.
The chorus of Ko Teng Teng is quite catchy as it carries a strong message to music promoters. The chorus urges them to fulfill their agreements of paying musicians after they stage a performance.
“You book me, pay me first/ I entertain your audience and your event becomes a success”.
The song is a single from Touch Motswako’s upcoming album Fresh 2 Tswak Volume 2, which will be released early next year.
Apart from making his own music, the rapper has been playing a role in developing upcoming rappers to get a performance platform through open mic sessions at Asylum Night.
