The Neo Soul singer according to Oliver Groth stumbled on the Mascom Live sessions event and expressed her interest in featuring at the show.
The show will be held at the BotswanaCraft next week Friday. Stone, birth name Joscelyn Eve Stoker, is currently on a world tour and will make her stop over in the country next week.
According to Groth, whilst in the country before jetting off to her performance in Zambia, Stone intends to visit some of the charity organisations around town.
“I was actually surprised to receive a call from her and her team.
They said that they goggled Botswana, and Mascom Live Session is what they came up with. Although not a popular figure because of her seemingly laid back personality, Stone is one of the greatest,” said Groth at a media briefing this week.
The 28-year-old Stone, born in the United Kingdom according to her biography, rose to fame in 2003 with her multi-platinum debut album, The Soul Session.
Her latest album, a sequel to her debut album, The Soul Session Vol. 2, was released on July 23, 2012.
This instalment will be one of the last for this year’s round of Mascom Live Sessions.
After Stone, the live music event will host South Africa’s girl of the moment, Zahara. Zahara has just released her third album, which has shot to the top of the charts.
Zahara, famous for her debut album with the hit song Loliwe, will close off this year calendar of Mascom Live Session following an instalment featuring Lira, Salif Keita and Hugh Masekela.
