Dithapelo Keorapetse | Tuesday November 17, 2015 11:26
The party knows how difficult this must be for parents or guardians of the children, the teachers and pupils of Matsha College and the nation at large. The bereaved are in our thoughts and prayers.
The deceased were young learners who their parents and nation expected a lot from and their untimely death has robbed both their parents and Batswana of productive citizens who would contribute to national development. The BCP is aware of how much the parents and teachers will miss their children.
We encourage them to draw on their strength. The party is prepared to assist in any way it can during these difficult time.
We also note that many pupils got injured in the same accident, we wish them speedy recovery. It has been the party’s believe that it is government policy not to transport students in open trucks.
The party will use its representation in parliament and councils through questions and motions or debates to fight the evil system of transporting students in open trucks and to demand answers on what happened.
We also urge the government to own up to the tragedy and take full responsibility for what happened. May the God Almighty console and bless the parents, teachers and learners of Matsha College and the nation at large.
