Leero was sentenced to six years imprisonment for rape but after four years, the once lead singer for award winning traditional group, Matsieng, is back and is ready to hit the stage.

It has been no secret that Leero was fully utilizing his stay behind bars time to create “mean” tracks as his is famous for.

Popularly referred to as “Tinto” in music circles, Leero’s eight-track and much-anticipated album is produced by Bullet Ketshabile, a Botswana Musicians Union (BOMU) awards nominee for best producer.

Ketshabile told Showbiz yesterday that they had been working on the album as far back as April 2015, when Leero was still in jail.  He said the album, however, is only expected to be complete this Friday. Although the release date is not yet finalized he said that it will most likely be mid next month.

“We will have the job done by this Friday,” he said.

Showbiz can also confirm that although chances of the group, Matsieng, reuniting are vague, Leero has shared the studio with past band member Tsankana.

“He will feature Tsankana in one of the songs. The name of the single has not been decided as yet, all will be revealed in due time,” Ketshabile said.
