The University wishes to clarify that the affected students were identified from the register of all those who visited the restaurant on the day the said truck driver had been there. Thus, the students have no personal knowledge of the identity of this truck driver.

It should be pointed out that the affected students are merely contact persons, and have not been confirmed as COVID-19 positive.

The public is reminded to ascertain the truth of statements they publish on social media to avoid false and misleading statements such as the ones relating to this matter in order to avoid the risk of reputational damage to those affected and raising unnecessary panic.
