Kit Drama Mars Satmos� First Win

Satmos beat Nico 4-2 in the Selebi-Phikwe derby but it was Kagiso Tutuwe who was “the man of the match” after he took away the team’s kit, claiming the club owed him. As a result, the match began 30 minutes late and Satmos had to use an alternative strip.
But the embarrassment saved to motivate the hosts who registered their first win of the season. Just three minutes into the game, Moodley Njeleza’s header gave Satmos the lead but Nico restored parity just a minute later through Christopher Musonda’s equaliser.
The two were tied 1-1 at the break. Thereafter, Satmos increased the tempo but it was Nico who went ahead in the 57th minute after Trinity Nko converted an indirect free kick. Satmos kept knocking and duly equalised in the 71st minute through troublesome Katlego Mpoeleng. Satmos surged ahead after Moodley Njeleza dribbled homewards and his effort was turned home by Nico’s Innocent Sikhungu in the 82nd minute.
Njeleza put the tie to bed with a header in the 90th minute as Satmos ensured they fight another day. A draw for Satmos would have ensured they go down to the First Division, although it still looks bleak for the Selebi-Phikwe side. Satmos coach, Abednico Gaboilwe said they were determined to win.
“We have been playing well since the beginning of the league, it is unfortunate that we were not able to register any win,” he said. Nico coach, Duncan Tshegofatso on the other hand said his players lacked tactical discipline. He said his players came into the game thinking they will walk over Satmos.
“We gave it away by conceding silly goals,” he said. “Tactical indiscipline cost us because the players were excited and they failed to protect. This is one of the worst games caused by the players’ excitement.”
