He says that with his new deal with Universal music, he aims to hit the triple platinum mark. This latest move makes the Baba hitmaker the very first Motswana to sign with Universal music.

“When I made this album, my goal was to conquer Africa. Like I said in the past Batswana have supported me and I do not doubt their love.  It’s now time for me to spread my wings in Africa,” Vee said.

The pint-sized musician, who  does not hide his faith in his religion, with his trademark line “Wa laola jeso” will now have his music sold side-by-side with renowned artists like Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Mariah Carey, Black Coffee, just to mention a few.

“Universal is a global company. This is a very huge deal for me. I am confident that my album will sell the Botswana story and name the whole of Africa,” he said.

With the “I do” album Vee has featured top selling artists including, Khuli Chana, Casper Nyovest, Professor, Naak Musiq, DJ Maphorisa and Sfiso Ncwane amongst others.  When quizzed how much he spent preparing the album, Vee revealed that he had to part ways with P1 million pula for the project.

“The production is huge. The artists featured are busy and expensive. I made no compromises because I really aim to conquer Africa with this one.

So I would say I spent just a little over a million pula.”

This will be Vee’s 13th studio album. He recently also clinched a half-million pula deal with ViB Mobile.

However, he could not reveal the value of his new deal with Universal to this publication.
