Amantle Brown was thrown into the deep end when she faced legendary South African artist, Ringo Madlingozi.
She has only one album under her belt titled Sa Pelo, but on Friday she was head-to-head with a man who has over 140 released songs with many accolades to accompany the hit singles.
Clad in an all white, the 23-year-old was not to be tossed aside. She belted out her singles from Moratiwa, Mahitshwana to her latest Black Mampatile.
The crowd could not stop but throw compliments at the pint-sized musician through out her set. Her interactions with the crowd made them to appreciate her performance even more. Her confidence and stage presence was felt by many proving that she is not just a singer, but also a performer.
Amantle Brown, who was first introduced to Batswana through the infamous talent search show, My Star and exiting the show in the final stages of the competition, is currently leading radio charts in the country and has also received two awards at last year’s Botswana Musicians Union (BOMU) awards.
She paved the way for the man of the night Ringo. Ringo belted out his famous songs as the crowd sang along to the lyrics of their favourite song.
The ever-energetic Ndiyagodola hitmaker seemed to enjoy his sold out show dancing along to every song. The crowd went ecstatic once the afro soul sensation was called on stage. He was to later call Amantle back on stage to share his hit song Sondela.
The next Mascom Live session will also see another local favourite, Seeretsi and the Natives. They will be opening for another favourite at Mascom Live Sessions, Oliver Mtukuzi. This show is billed for October 7.
