Some of the requirements are that all clubs should have set up offices with full-time staff.

The clubs are expected to have a general manager who is responsible for running its daily business. They are also expected to have a medical doctor and a physiotherapist among other things. Some of the Premier League sides have said they are well within meeting the requirements before the season can start.

Gunners’ spokesperson, Edwin Mabapa said they are 80% compliant at the moment as they are still to sort out some few issues. “We have met the association representatives and they gave us guidance on how we should go about them. Only few things are left and by Monday we should be 100% compliant,” he said.

BDF XI have also said they are working on being compliant by the time the season starts despite some few challenges. The club spokesperson, Pius Kolagano told Mmegi Sport yesterday that they are trying to see how best the system can absorb the officers. He said most of the positions are normally held by BDF officers as part of their job without any contracts but he said the association is assisting in terms of guidance on how they can go about it.  “We submitted our documents last week to the Premier League. I would say we are about 95% done and we are now awaiting them to come back to us and assist where there is need to make corrections,” Nico United official, Mogomotsi Orapeleng said.

For his part, Police XI spokesperson, Jayson Chabota said they are about 99%  compliant having set up an office with full time staff and other things. He said what is left is to do with the registration requirements for players since they are not yet done in the transfer market.
