Having grown up in the United Kingdom (UK) with one of his parents being a medical practitioner 28 year old Moeng was now forced to live a healthy lifestyle. “While in the UK. I developed love for boxing, to an extent that I even became a professional,” said Moeng. While in his quest to deliver services to the people when coming back home Moeng in 2013 started a home gym at his house in Gaborone, Phase 2.
Due to lack of funds, in the ground breaking stages of his dream, he provided his services for free at times just to make sure that potential clients realise his value. “ A couple of individuals approached me with an attempt to recruit me into their won organisations. But I resisted because my aspiration was to establish a gym with equal type of training. A facility where everyone could get an opportunity to work out to and curb some of the deadly health diseases,” he said.
Moeng’s Energie Cotonou Pty LTD Company made a break through in 2015, as he was able to buy all the necessary gym equipment through savings. He wanted to be independent in his business. “When my clients show up to be facilitated I told them that if they are not mentally ready they couldn’t improve their health. It all starts with the mind and eating habits. If they trained but failed to do away with eating fatty foods, that means there would not make progress thus hindering physical and mental health improvement,” said Moeng.
In explaining his journey, Moeng said“Despite challenges encountered I still have loyal clients who started with me from the very beginning. Initially, bad weather conditions hindered progress as I started off without a shelter. Also individuals who compared gyms forgetting that it’s not the gym but the trainer who facilitates were some of the challenges,” he said.
Some of his offerings are, mobile gym services, corporate training, boxing exercise, group and personal training. Pump and Flex Bw is his trading name.
Furthermore, he disclosed that digital platforms assist a great deal in taking his business to potential clients without forgetting word of mouth. “I was able to employ few individuals who help me in the overall operations of the business. We have also organized a culture promotion fitness event that will take place in few months,” said Moeng.
