The Francistown-based outfit launched a new technical sponsorship agreement with local clothing brand, Kernville Fashions last weekend following the collapse of the Dlala deal.

Regarding the Dlala sponsorship, Kololo told Mmegi Sport that other than affordability,  there were some technicalities that also affected negotiations.

“Dlala was too expensive,” Kololo said. “We were asked to buy 250 replica shirts for P45,000 to activate the sponsorship and we did not have that amount.

The other reason for the negotiations collapsing is that while we were still negotiating with Dlala we discovered that we already had a three-year technical sponsorship with Kernville (Fashions)”.

He said the complications were a result of improper handing over of the team affairs by the past committee.  However, Kololo said they appreciated the details of the Kernville contract and they have resorted to seeing it through.

“There was no proper hand over from the past committee and following the discovery we looked at it and appreciated the contract. We want to see it through and then we can engage in other negotiations after that,” he said.  “Otherwise we are happy with the contract. They provide everything and we get a fair share”.

Meanwhile, Kololo said they have unveiled their new team and they were impressed with the turnout of the supporters and the business people. “Preparation wise, we are well off and we are ready for competition in the coming season. We unveiled about seven players at the launch and we are still in negotiations with the last two players.

“Our supporters have also returned in numbers and they have re-assured us by updating their membership. We have also received pledges from the business community and a lot is looking up.  We are satisfied with the outcome of the launch”.

TAFIC have added to their arsenal two foreign players, Zimbabwean, Simbarashe Sithole previously of Ajax Cape Town and South African, Stuart Matlala. Along with the duo they also unveiled Abednico Morapedi from Police XI, Ronald Selemane from GNT, Bobby Matthews, former Tonota FC and Mooketsi Mampuri on loan from Matebejane and new coaches, Blessing Moyo and Elias Chinyemba.
