Scoophy releases Bloma

The young man who hails from Mochudi has just released a single titled Bloma, which has so far trended in social media and gained a positive response from his fans. The song has been played in various local radio stations, and seems to be getting a positive reception from the audience.

His rapping skills complement the beats in the song. Bangu of HeartBeatz Sounds produced Bloma. The 21-year-old young man said he is currently working on a mix-tape titled M.I.M.S meaning Music In My Soul, which he said would drop early next year.

“I am working with established local artists like D-Nice, M.O.I and Kheza Matofane and producers like Bangu, Pro Lanez, Wolff, Ibro and few international producers and artists from Swaziland and South African,” he said.

Scoophy is a Sound Engineering and Technology student at Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, hoping to bring change to the local music industry. He said he is also passionate about helping other people with his artistic skills.

The young man who was featured in a track titled Mochudi Anthem, which proved to be a hit in the Kgatleng area and on social media, is not a signed artist and owns a record label called Hustle Pays Movement, which he hopes will grow with time.

He was raised by a single mother and has an older sister and brother. Growing around people who appreciate good music, his love for music started at an early age and started writing lyrics at 13-years.

“When I was growing up, the type of music I was exposed to was kwaito music, so I got inspiration from artists like Mandoza, Mzekezeke, the late Brown Dash and others. I was motivated by the type of beats, tempo and the time syncopation alongside the message behind their lyrics. I later got exposed to hip-hop music that is why I found comfort in fusing the genres to deliver good music to the people,” he said.

His first kwaito single Phiriphamola, produced by Wolff The BeatFarma, was released in 2013. The young man has previously performed in one of the biggest Hip-hop shows, Motswako Invasion, alongside South African artists, Khuli Chana, Fifi Cooper, Tuks Senganga, Jay R and local artists, Dramaboi, Sasa Klass, Zeus to mention a few.
