The production shows a lot of maturity compared to the songs he has done in the past. His lyrics convey the love he has for House-kwasa music. Even though the single is your typical House-kwasa song, Commandor was able to come up with wonderful concept.

In an interview with Showbiz, the Thamaga native said he started working on the single last year. “Skhiphane means what’s up and I wanted to use the kasi lingo and identify my target fans,” he said.

He said the single is different from his previous works because the quality has improved.

Commandor said he has already performed the single in various shows and people are appreciating his music.

However he said it is difficult to penetrate the music industry these days.

“You have to have connections because nothing comes easy,” he said. Commandor said he aims to work with other House-kwasa artists in the future. For now, Commandor said he is not working on an album anytime soon therefore he will keep releasing singles. Looking back, Commandor said he started music in 2008 as a House-kwasa dancer. He said his passion for music then drove him towards releasing his first music single in 2012. With Skhiphane now released the 28-year-old said he hopes for a better response this time around.
