Miss Global Botswana pageant is back

In an interview with Showbiz, the event coordinator Osego Maseko said 12 beautiful young Batswana women would be battling out for the crown.
He said the pageant last took place in Botswana in 2013. However, Maseko pointed out that they intend to host it annually and hopes that it will grow bigger each year.
“Miss Global is an extravagant and prestigious competition that looks beyond just the physical beauty of women. The contestants are encouraged to express their individuality with poise, grace and wits,” he said.
Maseko said Miss Global Botswana would set the new standards for a wider age range and a more diverse selection of qualified female participants between the ages of 18 to 35.
The winner will represent Botswana at Miss Global International Pageant at the Dominican Republic in October. Maseko added that this would give the winner a once in a lifetime friendship and endless support from diverse communities that will advance her status beyond imaginable outlooks.
Miss Global Botswana is a franchise by Kegomoditswe Sefako who has a background in business, the creative field and pageantry.
The 12 girls have gone through the boot camp where they have been trained how to walk, pose, behavioural change and other skills needed by a queen. The main event will include a fashion show, swimwear parade, cultural attire and evening gown.
“The objective of this pageant is to provide financial assistance in the form of cash prices and employment opportunities to young Batswana ladies. We would also like to honour traditional traits such as honesty, good character, talent, poise, intellect, leadership and good judgement among young women,” he said.
Maseko added that they hope after the pageant, contestants would be able to serve as role models to other young women with similar goals and characteristics and encourage them to value personal achievements, a healthy lifestyle and community involvement.
The artists who will be showcasing at the event are Spiza, Flexy Ville, Fio Matt and Tshegofatso Serite. Nanai Travel Tours, Deluxe Cabs, Functional Fitness Gym, Bonnitas Aqua and Day Spa, Six Nine Communications and Ozzy Entertainment and Photography sponsored the event.
The event would start at 1800hours till 2330hours. Tickets are sold at P250 normal and P500 for VIP at Liquorama, Choppies stores and Webtickets.
