The committee has made a brisk start, making key decisions in the last month.

The emergency committee decided to re-suspend Botswana Premier League (BPL) Bennett Mamelodi. The same committee took a decision to re-deploy Mamelodi to the BFA to allow a forensic audit at the BPL.

It comprises the president, Maclean Letshwiti, the two vice presidents, Segolame Ramotlhwa and Marshlow Motlogelwa as well as the CEO, Kemoeng.

“It’s a constitutional structure which is supposed to make decisions between NEC meetings subject to ratification by the NEC. The NEC cannot always meet when there is a decision to be made,” Kemoeng said.

The committee is a structure under the new constitution but has drawn apprehension with some critics arguing it is open to abuse. The body is key to decision making as the NEC now meets quarterly instead of every month.
