The restaurant was set up last year after Bona Naledi Society received P23,000 from Mascom through the Diacore Marathon.

Located in the vibrant township of Old Naledi popularly known as Zola in Gaborone along the Old Lobatse road, Bona Tatso would now move to a new place allocated by MYSC and Gaborone City Council (GCC).

Bona Naledi Society founder, Salim Kegodile told Showbiz that indeed the restaurant has been closed down and would now relocate to a new place near the outdoor gym in Old Naledi.

He said there were various reasons for the closure such as absence of toilets among others.  “We mostly depended on firewood and the food was also getting cold so we needed outdoor catering that is efficient,” he said.

Kegodile said the new space would also be a temporary structure.  He said a date would be shared once the new place is ready to operate.

“A lot has to be in place and we are working on getting funds to put everything together,” he said. He added that as a visionary leader, he wants Bona Tatso to provide a great experience other than just sitting there and having a meal.

“I want a situation whereby we could have artists playing Marimba while Mafitlhakgosi do their thing there as well,” he said.

He said with the new place they plan to have a high-class kitchen with all the necessary equipment.  Kegodile said that once they reopen the restaurant they want it to more profitable.
