From frying pan into the fire for Gunners

At the draw held at the Mogoditshane Supa Save mall yesterday, Gunners were drawn as the home team in a game to be played on the weekend of April 12 and 14, 2019.
Gunners reached the second round of the competition after beating Popa’s crosstown rivals, Gaborone United (GU) on penalties last week. The Blues on the other hand walked over third tier side, Santa Greens with a 3-0 victory.
With nine FA cup titles between the two sides, the fixture headlines the second round games. Rollers’ coach, Rodolfo Zapata said he ‘loves’ the tie.
“(I) love it. It will be an exciting game. It is not going to be an easy match. But I have many hopes in a big game like this. At Township Rollers every game is important because all the teams pretend to beat,” he said.
“Our players have enough experience to manage this kind of situation. They understand my philosophy and I believe in them.”
His counterpart, Gunners’ coach, Pontsho Moloi is braced for the tie and said for them to win the cup, they have to eliminate the best.
“We welcome the draw, the reality is you have to beat the best to be the best. It’s good for us and we will prepare for the game as best as we can. It is better to play the opponents you know,” he said.
The dates and venues for the games will be announced by the competition’s organising committee soon.
