They will be building a fully furnished home for an identified less privileged family at Old Naledi.  The five stars include the Chief of Thathe, Vhafuwi real name, Gabriel Temudzani accompanied by his soapie first wife, Susan (Maumela Mahuwa). Vhafuwi will also be in the company of the his cousin and mayor of Thathe, Mulalo (Hangwani Sydney Ramakuwela) who will also come with his onset wife Teboho (Liteboho Molise), also adding to the Muvhango pack will be their co-star Buhle Samuels who plays Matshidiso.

The gala dinner to be hosted at the Travel Lodge on October 29 will also feature for the first time ever, Idols SA 2015 runner up, Mmatema. Showbiz caught up with the Chief of Thathe, who expressed his enthusiasm about the project.

“I just want people, our people, Africans to embrace the spirit of Ubuntu.  It simply means you are because of me and I am because of you,” Vhafuwi said.

“It is as simple as that, I feel like as Africans we have detached ourselves from the spirit of Ubuntu, which was and should still be our core principle.”

Vhafuwi arrived in the country on Monday evening, He made an early visit, yesterday to the family in Old Naledi. Later today he will host a press conference.

In an exclusive interview he said, “The Muvhango stage has brought to us fame, but why should we be celebrated if we do not give back.  We are all about upholding the spirit of Ubuntu.”

“We should look after those that cannot help themselves, whether because of age, disability, gender or the vulnerable,” he added.

But the man behind bringing the Muvhango stars into the country, Thuso Molefhe of Horizon Tech says President Ian Khama motivated this initiative.

“He is definitely the main inspiration, but we also wanted to give back,” Molefhe said.

“We wanted to give them a fully furnished house and hopefully all this will be complete by December.  It will be a three-bedroomed house,” he said. Molefhe said it will be an annual event where the company donates to the less privileged, but he also said that they will be working on the same initiative at the star’s home, in South Africa.

“They like the idea so much that they asked if we could have the same in South Africa.  They have been doing their own charity work in their country, but they have also proposed that Together We Can also stages a similar donation in South Africa,” he said.

The donations for the event are only P700 per person.  The gala dinner will also feature performances from Mmatema, Tshepo Lesole, Lizibo and Gong Master.  Other celebrity ambassadors include former Miss Botswana Sumaiyah Marope and gospel singer, Omega.
