BFA chief executive officer, Kitso Kemoeng said there are two main factors determining whether the Zebras play a friendly match.
“There are two main factors; the league and resources. Do we have enough resources and is this (Zebras) our focus at the moment? So we need to look at these factors first,” Kemoeng said yesterday. The Zebras were last in action on Independence Day when they edged Angola 3-0 on penalties but skipped last week’s FIFA date.
The move not to organise a friendly match on the next FIFA date will effectively send coach, Peter Butler on an early holiday ahead of the expiry of his contract in March.
In a recent interview, BFA president, Maclean Letshwiti acknowledged that the Briton had done well under difficult circumstances.Butler has managed to introduce young and exciting talent into the national fold, breaking from established tradition of tried and tested players. The likes of Lebogang Ditsile, Tapiwa Gadibolae, Onkabetse Mankgantai, Thabang Sesinyi, Omaatla Kebatho, previously unheralded, have blossomed under Butler.
