BMC confirms lawsuit against itself

In press release today the BMC says the applicant used to provide services to its BMC Lobatse operations. It also confirms that a writ of execution has been issued in favour of the applicant by the High Court, and it is currently being administered at the BMC Lobatse Head Office.
“The execution of the writ by the deputy sheriff has affected parts of the BMC Lobatse operations - however abattoir-operations and other critical services continue undeterred,” Tebatso Modibedi, the BMC corporate communications and public relations said.
In view of this, Modibedi disclosed that the BMC has also sought relief from the High Court, in relation to the execution of the writ.
“Cattle suppliers and other critical services to the BMC are therefore encouraged to continue transacting with the BMC, with neither fear nor anxiety on BMC’s ability to settle its financial commitments/obligations.
The public is further advised that these are normal legal proceedings that will not have a bearing on BMC is a strategic national asset that contributes to the economy of Botswana.
The public and the customers are assured that this legal issue shall not in any way impede the current and future operations of the Commission.”
