Raptured Roots Set To Tour SA Beer Festival

The booking came after the triad attended Mafikeng beer festival and impressed the promoter of the event.
Locally, a fusion of different musical instruments to obtain a single sound is evidently becoming the in-thing in the house music landscape.
This new trend has gained great momentum for the local artistes who are now getting booked across borders.
Raptured Roots received a plethora of foreign bookings during the previous year; performing in bars, clubs and festivals. Raptured Roots, a 2015 enacted band comprises a pianist Tlotso ‘Dj Kev Karter’ Kgautlhe, percussionist Tumisang ‘Tomz’ Motshabi and DJ Ezekiel ‘Ezek’ Ntebele behind the decks.
Speaking to Showtime, a band member said the promoter wants to have them in all his upcoming beer festival tours set to happen in five areas.
The designated places are Mafikeng, Kwa Zulu Natal, Ratlou and two other venues he is yet to reveal.
Raptured Roots also revealed that they are working on an extended play (EP) that they initially planned to drop in March, but moved the release date to either April or May.
“We planned to drop our work in March, but we are still running behind with some projects, so the EP will be dropped between the months of April and May,” Dj Kev Karter said on behalf of the band manager.
“At this point we are still sorting out recording logistics. Our band will be working with a variety of local artistes on this project.”
The band dropped an ancestral mix dubbed Solitude in December and several singles that would not be featured in the anticipated EP.
Recently, the band played their set for a full hour at Riverside Bar in Thamaga for the second time.
The residents gathered around to witness the fused performance of the band, and scrapping their usual display of dance moves in a bid to have better sight of the performance.
