This means that Sky Lounge has a certain target market and certain standards will be expected from those that will be gracing the place.

“When we established it, Sky Lounge was supposed to an exclusive lounge but due to poor logistics what we had planned things did not go well, then we made it an ordinary lounge. After the renovations we have brought back the exclusive element we started off with,” said Aotlhe ‘Trauma’ Boiteto of Loapi Events the company behind Sky Lounge’s logistics.

He noted that they will be establishing membership cards that will permit their clients’ access into the lounge. They are also looking at hosting company events and private parties. “This does not mean the place is not open for the general public. We are targeting young executives, entrepreneurs, newly graduated individuals and urban high achievers,” he added.

The standards to be expected by the Sky Lounge team ranges from the dress code to behaviour that one presents.

Boiteto noted that it will be more of selling a lifestyle than promoting the lounge through events or calling international acts to perform. “It will be more exclusive; we wont be advertising events. It’s more about the lifestyle. We will still invite artists for performances.”

He noted that the reason why they had to refurbish the lounge and maintain the exclusive element is that the lounge was dilapidated and attracting the wrong crowd, which is not the target market they are aiming for.

“This does not mean that we selecting people according to the economic status. We advocate for a clean productive lifestyle, a safe environment with security. This is a place where you can network, meet with potential business associates and talk freely.”

The facelift brought a new look to Sky Lounge. It is looking different from that rooftop Caribbean set up it used to have back then. It is now fully roofed and there is ample space for a huge number of people. Sky Lounge fully opens this coming weekend.
