The most affected districts are the Gantsi, Ngamiland, Chobe, Central, Northeast, Northern-Kgalagadi, SouthEast, Kgatleng and Kweneng districts.
Temperatures are expected to reach highs of between 380 and 40o while the Southern-Kgalagadi and Southern districts are also expected to still be very hot, with temperatures expected to range between 35 and 37c.
The extremely hot temperature conditions are said to be due to the persistence of hot northerly continental air mass or wind flow.
The Department therefore advises members of the public in the affected areas to take precautionary measures to protect themselves from these adverse weather conditions.
The Department will keep monitoring the conditions, and will update the public accordingly.
